Summary

Description
English: This is an ovoviviparous livebearer that can be found in Costa Rica and Panama. To be more precise: From northern Costa Rica to western Panama (small area), Atlantic and Pacific drainages; Costa Rica. The etymology of the fish of the genus Priapichthys is taken from Priape, the Greek and Roman god of procreation in mythology but also as a diminutive of the word phallus. This livebearer is also known under its common name "Orange fin livebearer". The name orange fin livebearer has been given because both genders have an orange seam in their dorsals.
