Tegelveld Jezus op het meer van Galilea

Nederland, Friesland circa 1758 schilder: Dirk Danser Aardewerk met tinglazuur OKS 2005-321

Het tableau is geschilderd naar een prent van Jan Luyken in De schriftuurlyke Geschiedenissen en Geliykenissen uit 1712. Dirk Danser was kunstschilder die, naast olieverfschilderijen, op verzoek tegeltableaus schilderde voor diverse Firese gleibakkers. Hij was zeeschilder en zijn specialisme is goed te herkennen aan de weergave van het water en de lucht.

The tile picture was painted from a print by Jan Luyken in De schriftuurlyke Geschiedenissen en Geliykenissen (Biblical Stories and Parables) from 1712. Dirk Danser was an artist who, in addition to creating oil paintings, also painted tile scenes for various Frisian potteries on request. He was a seascape artist and his specialism is easily recognized in the representation of water and skies.
