English: Private moorings north of Wheaton Aston, Staffordshire. These private moorings on the Shropshire Union Canal are quite legal, for now. The British Waterways Board are actively taking measures to reduce the availability of such moorings, as many new off line marinas have been developed over recent years.
This canal was opened in 1835, engineered by Thomas Telford, and was originally named the Birmingham and Liverpool Junction Canal. |
