English: A lesbian couple (presumably) and their daughters join thousands who gathered in downtown Los Angeles to protest on November 15th 2008 just after Proposition 8 passes which temporarily banned gay marriage in the State. Many were surprised to learn that the proposition even passed in Los Angeles county was is typically thought of as a relatively progressive county within the state. This was a bitter-sweet time in California politically for the LGBT community because during 2008's general election "Prop 8" had passed which was a major disappointment for the community while on the same day Barack Obama was elected to the office of President which was widely viewed as a major victory for the community.
