Description
English: Plaque commemorating the "International ghetto" in Újlipótváros in office between November 1944 and January, 16 1945. In this district of Budapest representatives of neutral countries (Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Argentina and El Salvador) as well as the Vatican and Red Cross marked some 120 "protected houses" where Jews protected by their laisser-passers (Schutzpass) had gathered. Because the Arrow Cross gangs continued to massacre thousands of the inhabitants of these houses, the Jews were transferred to the great Budapest ghetto until mid-January for better protection. The plaque has been affixed to the beginning of an Újlipótváros’ street and unveilled June, 13 2015 by representatives of the Hungarian state and the Charitable Foundation of the Jewish Heritage in Hungary. Français : Plaque commémorant le « ghetto international » en fonction entre novembre 1944 et 16 janvier 1945 en Újlipótváros. Dans ce quartier de Budapest les représentants des pays neutres (la Suède, la Suisse, le Portugal, l’Espagne, l’Argentine et le Salvador) ainsi que ceux du Vatican et de la Croix-Rouge ont marqué quelques 120 « maisons protégées » où les juifs protégés par leurs laissez-passers (schutzpass) ont été regroupés. Puisque les bandes armées des Croix fléchées ont continué à massacrer par miliers les habitants de ces maisons, les juifs on été transférés au grand ghetto de Budapest jusqu'à mi-janvier pour les mieux protéger. La plaque a été apposée au commencement d’une rue d’Újlipótváros et dévoilée le 13 juin 2015 par les représentants de l’état hongrois et la Fondation d’Utilité publique du Patrimoine juif de Hongrie. Magyar: Az 1944 novembere és 1945 januárja között Újlipótvárosban működött nemzetközi gettó emléktáblája. Budapest e városnegyedében a semleges országok (Svédország, Svájc, Portugália, Spanyolország, Argentína és El Salvador), valamint a Vatikán és a Nemzetközi Vöröskereszt képviseleteinek munkatársai mintegy 120 „védett házat” jelöltek meg, ahova a védőútleveleikkel ellátott zsidókat csoportosították. Mivel a nyilas fegyveres csoportok a védett házak lakói közül is több ezer embert hurcoltak el és gyilkoltak le, januárban a lakókat áttelepítették a nagyobb védettséget biztosító pesti nagy gettóba, melyet a magyar fővárost elfoglaló szovjet csapatok számolták fel. Az emléktáblát Újlipótváros egyik utcájának elején helyezték el a magyar állam és a Magyarországi zsidó Örökség Közalapítvány képviselői 2015. június 13-án. (Budapest XIII. ker., Hollán Ernő utca 1.)
