Additional Information edit

The image "La Belle Sauvage" is found in several Cassell & Co books of early 1900s. La Belle Sauvage translates as "the beautiful savage/native" and shows a female hunter/warrior. She is wearing an animal fur tied at one shoulder and her breast is intentionally bare to allow the freedom to fire the bow she is carrying in her left hand. Her right arm is reaching up and over her head to retrieve an arrow from the sheath she carries on her back. The strap of the sheath crosses her exposed breast.
