Español: Ubicado en un cerro-isla de 677 m en medio de la depresión intermedia, esta fortaleza cuenta con una ubicación estratégica, ya que se puede ver todo el curso medio del río Cachapoal, desde Angostura de Paine y la Cuesta de Chada por el norte, hasta la Angostura de Rigolemo por el sur y los faldeos cordilleranos del este y oeste.
El pucará habría tenido tres momentos de ocupación. La primera, de indígenas pre-incaicos, quienes habrían habitado el cerro entre 1380 y 1450 según indican los restos de una vivienda. Se usó, probablemente, como defensa contra el imperio Inca. Existen además evidencias de estructuras de almacenaje a escala doméstica y abundantes restos alfareros. El segundo momento de ocupación fue con los Incas (siglo XV). De ese entonces se distinguen estructuras macizas al estilo Inca, que habrían requerido una gran cantidad de mano de obra. Son estructuras defensivas y de depósito, revelando una creciente necesidad de abastecimiento de sus habitantes. El último en ocupar el pucará fue el líder local Cachapoal con la población indígena que resistió contra los españoles a mediados del siglo XVI. Las crónicas que los españoles dejaron de tales enfrentamientos permitieron después descubrir la fortaleza. La ladera sur del cerro contiene el mayor número de estructuras arquitectónicas. Este patrimonio sufrió graves daños en 1998 por la instalación de una antena telefónica. Localización: 30° 04’ S, 70° 41’ W, comuna de Graneros. Ubicación en Google Maps. Acceso: al oriente de la Ruta 5, a la altura de Graneros e indicado con un gran cartel café. Ascenso: difícil por la presencia de acantilados y una marcada pendiente de roca dura. Por la falda sur se encuentra uno de los senderos de acceso, escenario de estructuras arquitectónicas.
