Summary edit

Description
English: The Puget Sound Hotel at the Northeast corner of 6th Avenue South and Dearborn Street was not only the largest hotel in the International District at the time of construction but the largest workingman's hotel on the West coast. It was built in 1914 by realtor A.V. Williams for owner Philo D. Hamlin of the Keystone Investment Company. Robert Brown was the architect. Hamlin had owned the property since 1880 when it was muddy tideland. The hotel would be operated and later owned by several Japanese-American families. After years of deferred maintenance the dilapidated building was demolished in the early 1990s and replaced by the Nikkei Manor apartments, completed in 1998.
