Description Pump driven by a blindfolded mule
A blindfolded beast of burden such as a horse, mule, oxen or bullock is harnessed to a horizontal pole and is made to go round and round and in the process bringing up water.
The animal is blindfolded so that it does not go dizzy as it goes round and round and would not know that is not going anywhere except round the same circular movement.
This is a disappearing way of getting water as modern watermills use machinery to supplement wind when the latter is lacking. Another benefit is that you get water when you really need it
