English: Towering ahead of diesel buses, introduced way back in 2011, 1 of 8 hydrogen buses on the route, operating from Lea Interchange garage ( First/ Tower Transit ), a
VDL SB200 with Wrightbus Pulsar 2 11.9m powered by hydrogen. LK60HPL, WSH62994 is seen above on Catherine Street at Covent Garden on the high-profile tourist route RV 1. London Transport route RV 1 Tower Gateway & Covent Garden which ran from 2002 to 2019 COVENT GARDEN - Aldwych - Waterloo - Royal Festival Hall - Southwark Street - London Bridge Station - Tooley Street - Tower Bridge - TOWER GATEWAY. Following the routes withdrawl in 2019, some of the hydrogen buses operated suburban route 444 Turnpike Lane - Chingford for short time, but technology & science had moved on & the buses were scrapped. |
