Summary edit

Description
English: The Purple Turtle, formerly the Green Hansom and the Imperial Hotel, 29 Shortmarket Street, corner of Long Street in Cape Town, South Africa. The building was designed in 1901 by architects Parker and Forsyth and completed in 1902. The barely visible weathervane in this photo is in the shape of a flying goose. (Source:Walking Long Street by Desmond Martin, pp. 46–47)
The building is undergoing renovations and the patches of pink paint are covering up areas where signage was.
