Die Spuren der Bar als queeres Lokal verlieren sich in den Schatten der Zeit bevor queere Sichtbarkeit erfunden wurde. Bekannt ist, dass Hans-Dieter Eickmeyer (*1942 - †2022), HD genannt, die Bar 1979 vom Vorbesitzenden übernahm als er sich nach seiner angestellten Zeit in der nahe liegenden schwulen Bar Tabasco und danach im Charlottenburger (mitunter queeren) Szenelokal Vagabund, selbständig machte. Funfact: In früheren Zeiten suchte man meistens nicht in einer LGBT-Publikation, geschweige denn on-line nach queeren Ausgehmöglichkeiten, sondern wurde oft in die Szene "eingeführt". Hans-Dieter Eickmeyer wurde als junger Mann von bekannten Schauspielenden O. E. Hasse in die Szene eingeführt^[1].
Die Bar ist von 18:00h bis 06:00h ohne Ruhetag geöffnet. Circa 70 Gäste haben darin Platz. Sie ist eine etwas intime, versteckte queere Bar, an deren Tür man, wie in den Zeiten von häufigen Razzien noch um Einlass klingeln musste, und bevor es ganze queere Discos und Party-Locations in großem Stil gab. Heute zu Tage treffen sich im Pussy-Cat regelmäßig die BERLINCIGARMEN.
Eine US-Journalistin aus Berlin behauptete im Artikel die Pussy-Cat Bar sei eine Lesbenbar^[2]. Hierbei könnte es sich um ein Missverständnis handeln, wenn auch sicherlich queere Frauen zu den Besuchenden gehören.

The traces of the bar as a queer locale are lost in the shadows of a time before queer visibility was invented. It is recorded that Hans-Dieter Eickmeyer (*1942 - †2022), known as HD, took over the bar from the previous owner in 1979 when, after working for the nearby gay bar Tabasco and then for Charlottenburg's fashionable (also queer) haunt Vagabund, he opened his own establishment. Fun fact: In the old days, people didn't usually look for queer nightlife options in an LGBT publication, never mind online, but were often "introduced" to the scene. Hans-Dieter Eickmeyer was introduced to the Scene as a young man by well-known actors O. E. Hasse.^[3].
The bar is open from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., 7 days a week. There is space for about 70 guests. It is a cozy, somewhat hidden queer bar where you have to ring the doorbell to be let in, like in the days of frequent raids, and before there were whole queer discos and party locations on a large scale. Nowadays the BERLINCIGARMEN meet once a week in the Pussy-Cat.
A US journalist from Berlin claims in the article that the Pussy-Cat Bar is a lesbian bar^[4]. This could be a misunderstanding, even if queer women are certainly among the bar’s patrons.
