sreekurumbak kaavu at pudussery is 6 kms east of palakkadtown[ 45 kms from coimbatoor city] ,[99kms from guruvayur][11kms from palakkad jn railway station]. The temple is 500years old.The deity at pudussery is related to the deity of kotumkalloor.It is said that because of the request of a devotee who was unable to see devi at kotumkaloor during the barani festival,devi mounting herself on the palmyra-leafumbrela cam here and took her abode. the annul festival of this temple falls in the month of KUMBAM [ feb,march] and last fr 14 days.The festival in this temple is known as PUTHUSSERY VETI.veti in lockal language means Fire crackers. In all the 14 days of the festival fire crackers genarally called``KATHINA VETI ``herefrom the most important item in the festival and hence the festival itself was called veti.In this temple devotees acknowledge the boon of the deity by placing before her legs and heads made of the soft-wood and this is called POTTI THALA. the last item of the fireworks is the burning of the CHETTIYAAR KAMBAM. the first festival in palakkad districts starts with PUTHUSSERY VETI and ends with the pooram festival of thirumandham kunnu bagavathi temple at kongad. It is also to be noted that puthussery festival is the largest festivals celbrated in south malabar.the temple is under Malabar devaswam board [``A ``grade ]. .... ..
