This specimen of Pycnothelia papillaria was growing on bare soil near the intersection of the Red Trail, Yellow Trail and Blue Trail in the eastern sector of the Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA (N 39o24.733',   W 76o49.746')
