Français : Qipao fabriqué à Hong Kong. Velours synthétique imprimé. Années 1960. Victoria and Albert Museum, Londres. Collection Valery Garrett, avec le concours des amis du V&A.
Au XXe siècle la qipao d'origine mandchoue en est arrivée à symboliser la femme dynamique et moderne en Chine. Elle est encore très populaire aujourd’hui. Cette robe est coupée et construite suivant un patron occidentalisé par les coutures des épaules. Le motif imprimé et le textile suivent la mode des années soixante en occident.
