Description
English: Quarries, Highwood Bank Beech wood, thankfully clear of alien bluebells, growing on former quarry workings. The rock here, a Silurian limestone, is similar to chalk and the hills are the classic downland shape, with a dip slope (here), with seasonal watercourses and a steep scarp on the other side. This is part of a long ridge running from Radnorshire to Ironbridge in Shropshire.
