DescriptionQueen Annes County Courthouse (3727628311).jpg |
The Queen Anne's County Courthouse in Centreville, Maryland is the oldest courthouse in continuous use in the State of Maryland dating back to 1792. It was constructed on the Chesterfield plantation which was home to Judge Joseph Hopper Nicholson who suggested the music for the Star-Spangled Banner. He was also the member of House of Representatives who while very ill, was carried into Congress to cast the deciding vote for Thomas Jefferson in his battle with Aaron Burr for the presidency. |
