In the left lancet - Eleanor of Castile, Queen consort of King Edward I In the right lancet - The arms of Lyon & Castile, England and Ponthieu There are 12 crosses, symbolic of the Eleanor Crosses erected by Edward I following her death and the cross in the plate window as the central symbol of Christianity. The Inscription reads Queen Eleanor, beloved wife of King Edward I of England, died November 28th 1290 in Harby A gift from the people of Harby to commemorate 2000 years of Christianity and to the Glory of God |
