Description
English: Queen of the South Viaduct Sharply skewed viaduct built 1859 for the ‘Port Line’ (Dumfries-Stranraer railway) as the Nith Viaduct. Passenger service ceased 1965, the line retained for freight to Cargenbridge until 2005 when it was lifted. Renamed Queen of the South Viaduct 5 July 2008 after conversion to a cycle route & footpath linking E & W Dumfries.
