Summary edit
DescriptionQueens Head pub sign, Wolverley - geograph.org.uk - 777768.jpg |
English: Queens Head pub sign, Wolverley Most public houses and inns called the Queens Head are usually name after Queen Victoria. But this pub at Wolverley is believed at one time in its long history to have been named after Elizabeth 1. Whether that is true or not, today it is very unusually named after Queen Caroline, the wife and Queen Consort of King George II. Originally she was Caroline of Brandenburg-Ansbach and lived from 1683 to 1737, which dates appear on the sign. |
