| Description |
English: Queue to see HMS Daring HMS Daring is the first of the new type 45 destroyers. She was launched in February 2006, and is due to be commissioned on 23rd July 2009. Inspection shows she is still without her Vulcan Phalanx close-in weapons systems which are supposed to be fitted in the sponson just to the left of the main (tallest black) mast. The failure fully to equip the ship before commissioning must give some cause for concern.
This weekend was the first occasion when the ship was open to the public. The building at left foreground is the RN Museum. The queue is approaching the Victory Jetty where HMS Daring was tied up. |
