Deutsch: Vorderseite: L MANLI - PROQ. Kopf der Roma mit Helm nach r.

Rückseite: L SVLLA IMP. Sulla als Triumphator in einem Viergespann (quadriga) nach r., in seiner l. Hand die Zügel haltend, in der r. einen Merkurstab (caduceus). Er wird von einer ihm entgegenfliegenden Victoria bekränzt.

Kommentar: Die Münze wurde noch auf dem Feldzug Sullas auf Rom von dem Proquaestor L. Manlius Torquatus (später Konsul im Jahre 65 v. Chr.) für den Feldherrn Sulla 82 v. Chr. geprägt (Crawford 386). - Dieser Aureus gehört mit zu den frühesten römischen Goldmünzen des 1. Jhs. v. Chr. (vgl. den Typ Crawford Nr. 359,1 vom Jahre 84/83 v. Chr.).
