Description

Victor K2 XL231 of 57 Squadron based at Marham. The unit was disbanded four weeks after this picture was taken and XL231 passed to 55 Squadron, who named it "Lusty Lindy" in the Gulf War. On 25 November 1993, when 55 Squadron was wound up, it made its last flight from Marham to the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington. It was kept 'live' and taxiable, with some parts being salvaged from XL190 at RAF St.Mawgan when that aircraft was broken up in January 1999.
