ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. -- RDECOM Director Dale Ormond, SES, visited CERDEC facilities and laboratories, April 16-17. Mr. Ormond concluded his visit with a town hall with the CERDEC workforce, where he outlined his vision for the command going forward. CERDEC Director Jill Smith and Mr. Ormond also presented CERDEC employee Moses K. Mingle with an SES note, recognizing his accomplishment for being named Most Promising Engineer (Government Category), Black Engineer of the Year Award. “I often say this: we have as profound an impact as anyone in the Army in helping some Soldier out on point in the middle of nowhere execute his or her mission and come home safe,” Ormond said. “CERDEC in particular is the integrating function across many of the RDECS because almost everything that the Soldier uses now involves computers, is associated with the network, or has a battery. It has something that you’ve had a hand in developing, making better and worked to integrate in the most profound way to help get those Soldiers that capability.” |
