A RPPN Buraco das Araras é mais que uma cavidade

Description
Português: Diferentemente do interior do Buraco das Araras, em que predominam espécies arbóreas sempre verdes e que não perdem as folhas mesmo no período de seca, no entorno dessa dolina há uma exuberante vegetação típica de cerrado em que se destacam, acima do estrato gramíneo-arbustivo que cobre toda a área, árvores que apresentam tronco sinuoso e com ramificação irregular, casca grossa e corticosa, sendo que algumas espécies perdem parte das folhas no período de seca. Essa vegetação de entorno é parte da área da RPPN, por ser importante fator de proteção à própria dolina ao evitar a infiltração excessiva das águas das chuvas entre as fissuras da rocha, evitando processos de desmoronamento das bordas e a formação de cavidades subterrâneas no local.
