Description
Português: A passagem de águas ricas em carbonato de cálcio dissolvido sobre objetos tais como folhas e troncos promovem a deposição deste mineral, formando as tufas calcárias, um tipo de rocha sedimentar porosa e quebradiça. Quando essas águas passam sobre organismos muito pequenos tais como musgos e algas verdes filamentosas, as tufas formadas em torno delas têm aspecto delicado. É o caso dessas da foto, localizadas no rio Salobra (RPPN Cara da Onça), cujas dimensões podem ser percebidas pela observação da pequena formiga (Pseudomyrmex sp.) caminhando sobre elas.
