English: Race Yate The Pennine Way follows this wall from Bowes Moor to Cotherstone Moor, somewhere under the ski tracks in this photo. The spindrift blowing off the wall just goes to show that even lying snow can move and is still a part of the atmosphere. A skier travelling this way is using the airspace, and is not on the land, so was free to wander where he would, even in those days before the CROW act. The drift here made it convenient to cross the wall without needing to climb or even to take skis off ! |
