Description

A radioactive source is rubbed against a wetted wipe sample to collect any potential removable radioactivity. The wipe sample is then measured for alpha and beta activity using a portable alpha/beta surface contamination meter and a low level alpha/beta counter. If the activity is less than 200 Becquerels (Bq), the source is considered ‘leak tight’.
