editDescriptionRailway Crossing Lane, Lancaster - geograph.org.uk - 57158.jpg |
English: Railway Crossing Lane, Lancaster. The 6¼ mile branch from Lancaster to Glasson Dock was opened by the London & North Western Railway in 1883. It was closed to passengers in 1930 by the LMS and goods in 1964 by BR. This view, looking south, is where the single line crossed the aptly name Railway Crossing Lane. The next three miles of the trackbed to Glasson Dock have been converted into a cycleway part of NCN6. |
