| Description |
English: Railway line to Calvert Landfill Site 3. This single track railway line, which was once part of the Great Central Railway, the last main line twin track railway to be built, see 1048292, is now used by freight trains from Brentford in London carrying containerised household waste to the landfill site at Calvert, which is 6 km in the direction of the camera.
Here looking north-west, the railway has just passed under the road bridge for the C road between Waddesdon and Shipton Lee, which is behind the camera. A footpath crosses the railway about 100m ahead, see the above link, but it is not visible from this direction. The next image in this sequence is 1245436. |
