Description
English: Temporary "solution" until SVG rendering issues for File:Railway lines in Borovnica area-map.svg are resolved.

A map of the current and former railway routes in Borovnica area and location of the Borovnica railway viadukt (in German also known as Franzdorfer Viadukt)

Legend:
- a brown box: location of the former Borovnica train station (in use between 1856 and 1947)
- black & white: the current route (the eastern section between Preserje station and the former Borovnica station built in 1947, the western section from the former Borovnica station to Verd and further towards Trieste built in 1856 and still in use today)
- blue: initial route between Preserje station and the viaduct (1856 - 1947), ascending the slopes of the Rakitna Plateau (Rakitniška planota)
- red: the Borovnica viaduct, completed in 1856, partly destroyed in 1941, bombed in 1944, completely demolished a few years later)

- dashed violet: German avoiding line, built immediately after bombing of the viaduct, in use from 1945 to 1947

- rjav kvadratek: lega nekdanje borovniške železniške postaje ob zahodnem koncu viadukta (v uporabi med 1856 in 1947)
- črno-belo: današnja proga (med Preserjem in Borovnico zgrajena 1947, od Borovnice proti Postojni se še danes uporablja trasa iz leta 1856)
- modro: prvotna proga med ŽP Preserje in vzhodnim koncem viadukta (1856 - 1947), za razliko od današnje trase se je vzpenjala po pobočju Rakitniške planote
- rdeče: borovniški viadukt (zgrajen 1856, delno uničen 1941, bombardiran 1945, dokončno porušen nekaj let kasneje)

- črtkano vijolično: nemška obvozna proga, zgrajena takoj po bombardiranju viadukta, v uporabi od 1945 do 1947
