English: Railway viaduct, Crawfordsburn Glen [1] Approaching the railway viaduct in Crawfordsburn Glen.
Work began on the viaduct in 1864. It's construction was vital in extending the railway from Holywood to Bangor. The impact of the railway had an important effect on Bangor as it made inexpensive travel from Belfast possible for the first time and the town soon became a fashionable resort for Victorian holidaymakers. |
