Summary edit
DescriptionRainforest generation unit.png |
English: this sketch shows how towers can be built to resemble large trees in the rainforest. The towers are strong enough to support residential homes (here in spherical shape) and a novel membrane roof.
Together they form a superstructure that creates a controlled environment with air-conditioning and underground heat-storage, also called "passive solar greenhouse with geothermal cooling". The design was investigated in numerical models. The aim was to see if the temperature in a hot-arid desert environment can be reduced by 20 degrees and a closed water-cycle created. |
