Description Addis Ababa, also named the political capital of Africa, was only founded in 1886 by Emperor Menelik II, at an elevation of 2300 m. With a population of over 100 million people, Ethiopia is the largest land-locked country world-wide. In the 4th century, the region was one of the first in the world to officially adopt Christianity as the state religion.
