Description
English: The primary deity in this temple is Lord Shiva. Rameshwaram Ramanathaswamy Temple holds one of the 12 jothilingams. But the temple holds two lingams, one built by Devi Sita from sand, residing as the main deity, Ramalingam, and the other brought by Hanuman from Kailash called Vishwalingam. Vishwalingam has tail marks of the Immortal Hanuman and it was caused when he brought the lingam from Mount Kailash (Lord Shiva's Home).
