Description This picture was taken by Shankar. As you can see rangoli is an artistic creation that is made out of rice flour with some color powders designed on the floor by women folks of India. The famous Pongal festival celebrated in Tamilnadu during the month of January in order to show our greatfulness to god Sun and cows which are considered as the backbone of agriculture . People usually make this rangoli in front of their house as a sign of celebration also belived that even tiny little ants will eat that rice flour and get their tummy full. This art was made in front of my house.
