Summary edit
DescriptionRanscombe Hill - geograph.org.uk - 971117.jpg |
English: Ranscombe Hill The name of the hill is also the name of the road which is the main A27. The old coach route from Lewes originally ran along the course before following Ranscombe Lane, whose junction is on the right, into Glynde then onto Firle, Alfriston and eventually Eastbourne. The route to Beddingham was added in 1810 when a new more direct turnpike was opened. A rare view of the road without any traffic. |
