Description
Deutsch: Kardinaltugenden (Tapferkeit, Klugheit, Mäßigung) und die göttlichen Tugenden (Glaube, Hoffnung, Liebe) in der Lünette oben und neben dem Fenster, weiter unten die Übergabe der Pandekten an Kaiser Justinian (links) und die Übergabe der Dekretalien an Papst Gregor IX. Der Papst trägt die Züge des Auftraggebers Julius II. (1503-1513). Die Kardinäle zu seiner Seite sind Giovanni de’ Medici und Alessandro Farnese, die zukünftigen Päpste Leo X. (1513-1521) und Paul III. (1534-1549). Die Ausführung der Übergabe der Pandekten an Kaiser Justinian stammt von Lorenzo Lotto.
