English: Reading AEC 661T trolleybus no. 113 in Reading in 1998 Reading Borough Council's transport department operated an electric trolleybus system in the town from 1936 to 1968. In 1998, on the 30th anniversary of its closure, the British Trolleybus Society arranged for former Reading trolleybus 113 to be on static display for a day. It was parked in Broad Street, opposite the Marks & Spencer store. The vehicle dates from 1939, has a Park Royal 56 seat body, and was withdrawn from service in 1961. Broad Street was part of one of the main trolleybus routes in the town but the vehicle excited little interest, partly because it was tipping with rain most of the day, and partly because the overhead electric power lines were long gone so most people thought it was just another diesel bus. At the time this photo was taken some pedestrianisation of part of the street had been completed. Subsequently the whole street was done with a more modern looking appearance.
