Summary edit

Description The Red Room was formerly used for meetings of the Legislative Council, the upper house of the Nova Scotian parliament. Since the Legislative Council was abolished in 1928, the room has been used for committee meetings and for special events and press conferences. The red chairs encircling the table were made in the 1850s in Nova Scotia and were those used by the Council. The two red chairs on the dais were made for use of Edward VII (then Prince of Wales) during his 1860 visit.
