English: Red andersite in bed of the River Breamish The underlying rock of the Cheviot Hills is volcanic andersite an impervious granite that is pink in the ground but weathers to grey. The farm buildings of Low Bleakhope can be seen to the left of the trees in a sheltered spot where valleys meet including the steep Hareshaw Cleugh, behind the farm, which drains Cushat Law in the far distance. |
