Schilderij met de voorstelling van regenten en binnenvaders van het St. Catharinagasthuis. Groepsportret in de oorspronkelijke gebeeldhouwde lijst met de wapens en (niet overal juiste) namen. Rond een met een Smyrnaas bedekte tafel zitten, zichtbaar tot de knieën, mannen in zwart gewaad met vierkante platte witte kraag met witte kwastjes gekleed. Links op de tafel ligt een in perkament gebonden boek, met "St. Catharinen Gasthuijs 1659", waarop een tinnen inktstek. De achtergrond vertoont nauwelijks zichtbare pilaster verdeling en links een opgenomen gordijn met het St. Catharina wapen en schellekwast. Gesigneerd. Van links naar rechts zijn voorgesteld: - Pieter Hendricksz. van Goten (begraven Leiden, Pieterskerk, 5-7-1676); - Claes Jacobsz. van Assendelft (overleden Leiden? vóór 14-10-1669); - Mr Simon van Leeuwen (geboren Leiden, gedoopt 21-10-1626, overleden Den Haag, begraven Leiden, Pieterskerk, 17/24-1-1682); - Mr Hieronymus de Backere (gedoopt Leiden, Pieterskerk 14-3-1623, overleden waar? na 1681); - Arnold Heussen (begraven Leiden, Pieterskerk, 20/26-1-1669); - rentmeester J. van Heussen (begraven Leiden, Pieterskerk, 27-5/2-6-1663?); - binnenvader Carel Pietersz. de Pecker (begraven Leiden, Pieterskerk, 30-12-1669); - een ongeïdentificeerde binnenvader.
