DescriptionReichsstadt Memmingen Territorium, Michal 1725.png |
English: Detail cropped out of an 18th century map showing the territory of the Free Imperial City of Memmingen (darker green). The Protestant city's neighbors were mostly imperial abbeys such as Ottobeuren Abbey to the east and Ochsenhausen Abbey to the west. The double-headed eagle on the map symbolizes Memmingen's status as a free imperial city. Cropped out of map six of a nine-map series centered on the Circle of Swabia titled Suevia Universa by Matthäus Seutter and based on information supplied by Jacques de Michal. Published c. 1725-1727. |
