فارسی: تئاتر یا نمایش در ایران، پیشینهای طولانی دارد. پس زمینه تئاتر در ایران به دوران باستان برمیگردد. بعدتر سبکهای ویژه نمایشی ایرانی مانند تعزیه، روحوضی، خیمهشببازی و سیاه بازی شکل گرفتند. تئاتر مدرن در زمان قاجاریان پا گرفت. امروزه تئاتر در ایران بسیار پیشرو است.
English: Persian theater goes back to antiquity. The first initiation of theater and phenomena of acting can be traced in ceremonial theaters to glorify national heroes and legends and to humiliate the enemy, as in the classics "Soug Sivash" and "Mogh Koshi" (Megakhouni).[citation needed] Ancient Persian theatre and dance was significantly researched by the Greek historian Herodotus of Halikarnassos, who lived during the Persian rule in Greece. In his work Book IX (Calliope), he describes the history of Asian empires and also the Persian wars until 478 BC.
Español: El Teatro persa se remonta a la antigüedad. La primera iniciación del teatro persa y de la actuación se puede rastrear en las celebraciones ceremoniales para glorificar a héroes y leyendas nacionales y para humillar al enemigo, como en los clásicos de "Soug Sivash" y "Mogh Koshi" (Megakhouni). El teatro de la antigua persia y danza fueron investigados de manera significativa por el historiador griego Heródoto de Halicarnaso, que vivió durante el dominio persa de Grecia. En su obra Libro IX (Calliope), describe la historia de los imperios asiáticos y también de las guerras persas hasta 478 aC.
Հայերեն: Պարսկական թատրոն` թատերարվեստի տարրեր են պարունակել Իրանի հին ծիսակատարությունները։ Հիշատակություններ կան բազիգերների հին թատրոնի մասին, որ մոտ է եղել գուսանների արվեստին։ Կենցաղավարել են մնջախաղը, ստվերների և տիկնիկային թատրոնները։ 10-րդ դարին զարգացել են միստերիաները, որոնց գրառումներից 17-18 դարերին սկզբնավորվել է պարսկական ողբերգության թազիյե տեսակը։ Մինչև 10-րդ դարից 30-ական թվականին ներկայացումներ են տվել թափառաշրջիկ դերասանները՝ մասխա-րաբազները։
