CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - Clark/McCarthy a Joint Venture (CMJV) and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest hospital project team donated $7,400 to the Wounded Warrior Project® today during their monthly all hands safety stand-down at the Replacement Naval Hospital project aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. Receiving the donation is Amy Fite, WWP and Norberto Lara, WWP, IRAQ veteran 2004-2005.

"As you look at the new hospital being built you can see the quality of work that our tradespeople put in place,” said Lou Palandrani, Officer In Charge, Clark/McCarthy A Joint Venture. “But as you consider the contribution that they have made to the Wounded Warriors cause, you can feel the pride and passion they have in their hearts for the men and women in the military who so proudly serve our country.”

Over 50,000 servicemen and women have been injured in the recent military conflicts. In addition to the physical wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced a traumatic brain injury while on deployment.

"It's exciting to see this level of participation from the Hospital Project workforce,” said Lieutenant Adam W. Christopher, ROICC, Replacement Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. “Together, we made donations totaling over $7000 to directly support the Wounded Warrior Project®. It's a privilege to be part of such a dedicated group."

The NAVFAC donation will help Wounded Warriors and caregivers receive support each year through WWP's 18 diverse programs and services that are uniquely structured to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement.
