| Description |
English: "Löwenbrunnen" (lion fountain), created 1930 by the sculptor Szilagi from Freiburg im Breisgau. He modeled the fountain after the example of a similar one in the bavarian city Dinkelsbühl. Donated to the town by the Swiss textile industrial Cesar Stünzi, owner of a silk weaving factory in Rheinfelden. Originally located at the Oberrheinplatz, a town square in the city center of Rheinfelden Baden), Germany. In the late 1970s it was moved to a little park nearby, called "Rudolf-Vogel-Anlage". The fountain statue shows a lion on top, that holds the coats of arms of Rheinfelden (Baden). A lion also is the main figure in this coats of arms.
Deutsch: "Löwenbrunnen", geschaffen 1930 vom Bildhauer Victor Szilagi aus Freiburg im Breisgau nach dem Vorbild eines ähnlichen in Dinkelsbühl. Der Stadt gestiftet von dem Schweizer Textilindustriellen Cesar Stünzi (Stünzi Söhne Seidenwebereien). Der Brunnen wurde Ende der 1970er Jahre in den nahegelegenen Park "Rudolf-Vogel-Anlage" versetzt. Der Löwe auf der Brunnensäule hält das Wappen der Stadt, in dem sich ebenfalls eine Löwenfigur befindet. |
