Summary edit

Description Originally, this bridge was completed the first time in 1871. In 1901, it was rebuilt because of bad state and risk of collapse at flood. In the flood of 1927, the bridge was damaged, and at the beginning of 1930 repaired. Another repair was carried out in the 1950s, and a large overhaul 1988/89. During more than 70 years, this wooden bridge was the only direct connection between Vaduz and Sevelen for vehicles with a payload up to max. 6 tons. Since 1975, it may be used only by pedestrians, riders and cyclists. The bridge is constructed with two double trusses according to Howe, the American inventor William Howe (1803-1852), who developed a truss design to build a light, cheap and substantial bridge.
