Description
English: Three Rhizophora stylosa mangroves guard the coast of Bongalonan Marine Sanctuary in Basay, Negros Oriental. Together with other mangroves in the area, they serve as natural barriers to the coastal communities; prevent erosions, maintain water quality, and provide habitat to numerous organisms among others. These mangroves need to be protected in order for them to serve as buffers in the coastal areas.
