Painting of Richard Savage Nassau de Zuylestein, second son of third Earl of Rochford [1723-1780] by Thomas Gainsborough. Oil on canvas. Subject is shown in three-quarter length, wearing a green coat and vest, black breeches, white cuffs and cravat. He is seated, holding a book, with his sword on a table beside him. Set in a gilt wood frame with scrolling foliage decoration to the corners and centre of the sides of the frame. |
