Description
English: Introduced warm-season perennial shrub to 4 m tall. Leaves are large (10–40 cm long), peltate and palmately 7–9-lobed. Flowerheads are erect panicles to about 15 cm long; upper flowers female, lower male. Fruits are ovoid 3-lobed capsules. Flowers mostly in summer. A native of tropical Africa to Asia, it is a widespread weed of waste places near habitation, sometimes along creek beds. Seeds are toxic to stock and humans if eaten.
